Ultrasound point of care examination

An ultrasound point of care examination is an ultrasound performed in the exam room by your doctor so they can more clearly see to diagnose an issue.

An ultrasound machine uses sound waves sent painlessly into your body and reflected back to the machine to “see” inside of your body. It can be used to diagnose issues. Your doctor may take a portable ultrasound machine into the exam room so they can get a more detailed understanding of an injury or condition you have.
