After receiving her Bachelors of Fine Arts in sculpture from Winthrop University in 2002, Sarah began working as an insurance agent with her family’s agency in South Carolina. Her introduction to occupational therapy occurred after her grandmother suffered a stroke and Sarah accompanied her to one of her therapy appointments. She knew immediately that this would be a rewarding field, offering a chance to assist others in regaining their independence.
Sarah received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011 and moved to Virginia to pursue her passion of working with hand therapy patients at an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Maryland. Her experience treating a variety of upper extremity patients was furthered by working in private practice in the northern Virginia region and she received the prestigious Certified Hand Therapist designation in early 2017.
Sarah moved to Lynchburg in 2020 and enjoys hiking, gardening, hunting, and completing home improvement projects.
