Dr. Ryan Robertson specializes in joint replacement and general orthopedics. He was born and raised in Richmond and is excited to be able to practice in his hometown. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, cooking, traveling, and CrossFit.

Dr. Ryan Robertson is a fellowship-trained joint replacement specialist and general orthopedic surgeon.
Dr. Robertson and his team evaluate and treat patients with hip and knee pain arising from arthritis, traumatic injury, and congenital conditions. Dr. Robertson performs both minimally invasive partial and total knee replacements and specializes in the minimally invasive anterior approach total hip while being trained in all total hip approaches. He also evaluates and treats patients with previous total joints with persistent pain or complications. He performs both short stay and outpatient joint replacements.
Dr. Robertson grew up in Richmond, where he attended St. Christopher’s School. He left Richmond to complete his undergraduate degree at Davidson College, but returned to Richmond to attend the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. He then completed an orthopedic residency at the University of South Carolina. After his residency he was honored to be selected for an adult reconstruction fellowship at the Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Alexandria, Virginia where his training focused on primary and complex revision hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Robertson and his wife, Kristin, are excited to be back in Richmond with their son, Trey, daughter, Laurel, and dog, Toby, to be near family and friends. Dr. Robertson’s interests include spending time with family, cooking, traveling, and hunting.
