Non-operative spinal tumor treatment

Spinal tumors often cause back pain. Depending on the type of tumor, its placement, and your overall diagnosis, non-operative treatment like radiation or chemotherapy may be used to treat the tumor.

Tumors in the spine may be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Either way, they can cause back pain and potentially be dangerous if they compress nerves and make it difficult to move.

Chemotherapy and radiation may be used to treat spinal tumors without surgery, or they may be used in addition to spinal tumor surgery. Your doctors will work together to make the right plan for your care.
