OrthoVirginia is pleased to announce the opening of a new Ortho On Call and physical therapy location in the Short Pump area of Richmond, Virginia to provide orthopedic care without an appointment and to provide physical therapy with an appointment.
This Ortho On Call office in Short Pump joins three others in the greater Richmond area — in Richmond, Mechanicsville and Midlothian — to provide the metro area with trained orthopedic care outside of the emergency room. With a focus on bone and joint injuries and clinicians who specialize in orthopedic issues, Ortho On Call allows patients to get the help they need quickly.
This physical therapy office is the 10th physical therapy office for OrthoVirginia in the Richmond area, and joins existing physical therapy offices at the Chippenham, Hanover Memorial Regional, Henrico Parham, Hull St, Johnston-Willis, Prince George, Shrader Road, St. Francis Medical Pavilion, and St. Mary’s OrthoVirginia offices.
“We’re excited to be able to offer convenient access to urgent orthopedic care in Short Pump,” said Larry L. Benson, M.D., CAQSM, a physician at Richmond Ortho On Call locations. “Patients will be able to walk-in for care, including x-rays and crutches, from specialized orthopedic providers without having to go to the emergency room or schedule an appointment.”
Kristin Irwin, MS, PT, Regional Therapy Director is excited about the reduced travel time for patients. “Patients attend multiple physical therapy appointments, and having a location near their homes and jobs makes the recovery process easier.”
The new Ortho On Call and OrthoVirginia physical therapy offices are located at 12216 West Broad Street, 4B-5, Henrico, VA 23233, near the Short Pump Wegmans. It’s open for walk-in orthopedic urgent care Monday-Friday 8 a.m.–8 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The physical therapy office schedules appointments Monday-Thursday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
