Dr. Young You has a special interest in knee problems and performing knee surgery, including knee arthroscopic surgery. He also takes care of other general orthopedic problems. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and an active member in several professional medical organizations. He is also an avid supporter of local athletes and has serviced several school athletic teams as a team physician.
Dr. Young You always knew he wanted to be a surgeon, but it was not until completing his general surgical residency that he was drawn to orthopedics. Dr. You received a BA from the College of Liberal Arts and Science and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. He then completed his surgical internship at the New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina, and one year of general surgery residency at the Lutheran Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. You finished his formal medical training with an orthopedic surgery residency at the National Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Hospital in Arlington, Virginia.
With more than 30 years of orthopedic surgery in the Alexandria area, Dr. You has special interests in knee injury, including ACL reconstruction and arthroscopy, endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery, joint replacement, and fracture care.
