To meet the growing demand for high quality orthopedic care in Virginia, OrthoVirginia is pleased to announce the addition of six new physicians in Richmond and Northern Virginia.
Richmond: Ahmad Fashandi, M.D., Gregory Tanner, M.D., Ashlee MacDonald, M.D., and Anup Gangavalli, M.D.
Northern Virginia: Michael Nzeogu, M.D. and Jessalynn Adam, M.D., FAAPMR, CAQSM
Dr. Fashandi, an orthopedic trauma specialist, attended the University of Virginia for his undergraduate education and medical degree. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia as well.
Dr. Tanner, a joint replacement specialist, attended Youngstown State University for his undergraduate educate and earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed his internship in general surgery at Northside Medical Center, his orthopedic surgery residency at Stony Brook University Medical Center, a shoulder reconstruction fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute and an adult reconstruction fellowship at The Core Institute.
Dr. MacDonald, a foot and ankle surgery, attended Wake Forest University for her undergraduate education and Eastern Virginia Medical School for her medical degree. She completed her residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center and a fellowship at The Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center.
Dr. Gangavalli attended Stonybrook University for his undergraduate degree and medical degree. He did his residency at St. Luke’s University Hospital and completed a fellowship for spinal and neurological surgery at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Nzeogu specializes in hip and knee replacement. He received his undergraduate education at Case Western Reserve University and his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Hahnemann University Hospital at Drexel University, his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and his adult reconstruction Fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Adam specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She attended Princeton University for her undergraduate degree and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for her medical degree. Her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency was at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and her sports medicine fellowship was at MedStar NRH/Georgetown.

George Aguiar, M.D., Regional Vice President of OrthoVirginia – North, agrees. “Dr. Nzeogu and Dr. Adam will make it easier for our patients in Northern Virginia to receive care for their injuries and conditions.”

- Dr. Tanner joined the practice September 20 and is accepting new patients at our St. Mary’s office.
- Dr. MacDonald joined the practice October 4 and is accepting new patients at our Hanover Memorial office.
- Dr. Gangavalli joined the practice November 1 and is accepting new patients at our St. Mary’s office.
- Dr. Nzeogu joined the practice October 4 and is accepting new patients at our Alexandria and Springfield offices.
